Finding The Right Contractor

I would like to share some stories that owners and contractors have told me in the past. This story was from 10 years ago. The owners were constructing an addition to their home. The addition had a tall open concept ceiling. I was doing electrical work there. I had to finish work exactly where that ceiling was exactly. The owners had stopped me and told me that it is Christmas Eve and that we should resume the work in two weeks. During this time, they had found a handyman that was supposed to do some small work for them. They asked if he could do the electrical work for them. He said yes. The owners had asked him to make the rough in, in the area with the open concept ceiling. The handyman, had drilled through all the load bearing studs horizontally. For the owners to fix what he did, it costed them a lot of money. All of this happened because they did not let a licensed Electrician do the job.
